Backup
Why regular backups are essential and which tools students and staff can use to back up their data on macOS and Windows.
We strongly recommend that all students and staff make regular backups of all important data.

We strongly recommend that all students make regular backups of their important files and data. Hard disks do fail. The question is not if, but when.
We recommend the freeware Duplicati. The easiest way is to use an external hard disk as storage.
Another option is AOMEI Backupper Standard, which is free for one year.
Backup of single files, drawings, etc.
- Memory stick: Connect the stick to your PC and drag and drop your data onto the stick icon on your desktop. Tip: memory sticks are also excellent for exchanging data between Mac and Windows.
- External hard disk: Connect your external hard disk to your PC and drag and drop your data onto the hard disk icon on your desktop.
- D-ARCH server: Connect to your personal user share, create a folder «Backup» there and copy your data into it.
