Cloud Storage (Nextcloud)
Personal cloud storage (Nextcloud) for D-ARCH members: 100 GB for students, 300 GB for staff. Access in the browser and setting up the Nextcloud client.
In addition to server storage space, we provide you with personal cloud storage of 100 GB for D-ARCH students and 300 GB for D-ARCH staff.
This allows you, for example, to share large datasets with external partners or members of the ETH community.
How to share your data via a link (URL)
Installing the Nextcloud client
To install the Nextcloud client, you first need to log in to https://nextcloud.ethz.ch in your browser.
After logging in, click the user icon (1) in the top right corner to get to the Settings (2).
In the settings, go to Mobile & Desktop (3) to download the client.
Before you click Desktop App (5), you first need to copy the server link (4), since you will need it later on.
The link leads you to the official download page, where you can download the client for your operating system.
After the download is complete and the client is installed, this window will appear.
Click «Log in» (7).
Paste the link you copied before (https://nextcloud.ethz.ch) and click «Continue».
Click «Log in» (9) here.
Next, type in your ETH username (10) and your ETH password (11) (the same as for server and mail).
Click «Grant Access» (12) here.
In this window you can either synchronise all data from the server to your device or select individual folders. After that, click «Connect».
After you have chosen your settings, you can decide what happens to the unmarked folders on Nextcloud.
After that, your Nextcloud client should be running on your computer.
