Password

If you want to change your password or if you have problems like

• No login possible on Macs or Windows computers at the ETH
• No server mount possible
• Password is not accepted for all services
• You were at a work experience or you were a long time away from the ETH

we ask you to to synchronise your password.

Important changes!

Since October 2016, ETH requires two different passwords for the services and network sectors!

Procedure:

1. Login on the website password.ethz.ch



2. Select «Passwort ändern»



3. Choose «nethz Passwords (Supernethz, nethz/LDAP, AD, etc.)» and click on «Next».



4. Type your new password 2x (please note the requirements under «Password Policy») and click on «OK».



5. Wait (up to 20s!) until the green confirmation is appearing!



6. Select «Passwort ändern» again.



7. Choose now «Network Password» (WLAN, VPN, iPass) and click on «Next».



8. Type your new password 2x (please note the requirements under «Password Policy») and click on «OK».



9. Wait (up to 20s!) until the green confirmation is appearing!



10. Select «Logout»

That's it!

Your password is now synchronised for the services and network sectors at the ETH Zurich.
